The burger tasted like I'd made it myself in my own backyard. Add some waffle fries and save room for cobbler. Cobbler today was apple. Next time by I might just stop to see if they have something different Order and pay, get your drink and have a seat. They'll bring your order to the table with a friendly smile. Very nice touch. A stone's throw from I-99. Head and shoulders above most fast food joints. Really glad I stopped.

With a name like Backyard Burger you might expect a custom crafted burger made to perfection. Well, the burgers are just OK. If they are not frozen burgers they certainly taste like it. Their turkey burgers are actually much better as are most of their other sandwiches. Service is usually on the slow side despite not being very busy. I'm a really big burger fan so I'm kinda disappointed by this place on their trademark product. You'd probably be better off traveling a little further to Wendy's. By the way, I'm a local guy, not someone passing through on a lucky chance encounter. I'm giving a generous 3 on my rating.

The place wasn't what I expected but it was good. I thought this was a more upscale burger place but it was more like a Dairy Queen. That's not a bad thing, I like DQ. Everything about my burger was good. No disappointments there. They have waffle and seasoned fries, I chose the seasoned fries. I liked the taste but they could have been cooked another minute or two for crispness. The best thing was the shake. Shake of the month was butterscotch so I gave it a shot. It tasted great. Tons of flavor. I'd stop here again.

At Backyard Burgers, the chicken on the salad was real chicken. The burgers had a backyard feel and taste. My lunch companion liked the waffle fries, while I liked the seasoned fries. The kids enjoyed their meal from the kids menu. Their meals included a main item, either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or chicken tenders. It also included a choice of a side, either waffle fries, seasoned fries, or onion rings. It also came with a choice of milk or a drink. Finally, there was a Rice Krispie treat. While the inside looked new, it could use some refreshing. If McDonalds is the standard, this is above standard. This is better than McDonalds for a quick meal.

I was pretty surprised by how good this seemingly fast food joint was. Cook to order burgers the way you want it? Sign me up. I decided to build my own burger, loading it up with mushrooms, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato, and bbq sauce. You could also pick chicken and a few other options. I opted for the season fries although the waffle fries looked great too. You can try these out with different flavors as well. The burger was think and juicy, not overcooked like most fast food. They used a better grade of meat too. I really enjoyed everything here. The fries were seasoned well and crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. Really good stuff here. Although it takes a few more mins then other fast food and cost a bit more, the trade off for fresh high quality is well worth it. I'll be back for sure.
